BODY&SOUL 2017 – ESSENTIAL INFORMATION


TICKETS

Please have your tickets downloaded to your smartphone or printed out from the PDF you received in your email before coming to site – this greatly reduces traffic at entry point. If you must collect your tickets at the festival, please ensure you read the information below.

EVENT DETAILS

LOCATION – The festival takes place on the grounds of Ballinlough Castle, Clonmellon, Co. Westmeath.

DATE – The festival takes place Friday June 23rd until Sunday June 25th.

OPEN HOURS – Campsites open at 12pm (noon) Friday 23rd June and close at 2pm on Monday 26th June. Camping for weekend ticket holders only. Sunday Only Ticket holders are not permitted to camp.

SUNDAY TICKET HOLDERS can access the festival from 12pm Sunday 25th June. There is no re-entry for Sunday ticket holders. Sunday ticket holders are not permitted to camp. Sunday ticket holders are not permitted to bring alcohol on site.

THIS EVENT IS STRICTLY OVER 20S. Under 20s are not permitted even with a guardian, however under 12’s are welcome free of charge when accompanied by a guardian. People appearing under the age of 25 will be asked for I.D. Photo proof of age may be requested for entry i.e. passport, drivers licence or Garda age card.

FAMILY TICKETS permit entry for 1 Adult and up to 2 Children aged under 12. You will not be permitted entry to the festival with a Family ticket if you arrive without up-to two children under 12. Family ticket holders will be directed to the Family Campsite. Family Carpark Open: Friday 23rd June 9am-10pm, Saturday  9am-9pm, Sunday departures only, Monday – no entry, closes 2pm. Sunday arrival enter via Gate A. Please print out a Family Carpark Pass which is emailed to you before the festival and display it in your window as you arrive.

OFFICIAL FESTIVAL APP – MUDDY

The best way to find information while at the festival is to download the official Muddy Music App – Body&Soul’s official festival app. Head to the Play Store on Android or App Store on iPhone and search “Muddy Music App”. Once you’re at the festival all schedules, running orders, maps and locations will appear.

 


OPENING TIMES

Friday – Car parks 9am  – Campsites 12pmArena 3pm. 

 No entry to site after 11pm without ticket.


Saturday – Car parks 9am – Arena 10am

No entry to site after 10pm without ticket.


Sunday  – Car parks 12pm  – Arena 10am (12pm for Sunday Ticket holders)

 No entry after 8pm.

Note that admission is strictly by ticket only. Please have your weekend or Sunday ticket available for inspection at the entrance.

GETTING TO THE FESTIVAL

DRIVING TO THE FESTIVAL

If you are driving, fill your car with people, car share, drive efficiently and bring less stuff. Car pooling means less stress, more craic, smaller queues on arrival and it’s way better for the environment. Use Facebook or Twitter and search the hashtags #ecobodysoul or #bodysoul16 to find carpoolers. Drivers of full cars may even be rewarded with a Green VIP Pack.

 

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

 

Driving Directions For General Camping / Us&You Camping / Boutique Camping / General Campervans

Option 1: From Mullingar direction

  • Take N52 towards Delvin
  • Travel through Delvin turning right in Delvin onto the N51
  • Follow N51 turning left at Crowenstown National School onto the L5525

Option 2: From M3/N3/N52 (Clonmellon direction)

  • Travel M3/N3 North past toll plazas to N3 Kells roundabout
  • At N3 Kells roundabout take 1st exit N52 towards Clonmellon
  • In village continue on N52 into Delvin
  • Travel into Delvin turning left onto the N51
  • Follow N51 turning left at Crowenstown National School onto the L5525

Option 3: From Athboy direction

  • Travel on N51 turning right after The Crowenstown Inn onto the L5525

Driving Directions For Family Camping / Family Campervans

BUSES TO THE FESTIVAL

Marathon Travel operate a special service from Custom House Quay, Dublin City Centre as follows. Tickets can be purchased on the day at the bus stop.

Depart Dublin City Centre at Custom House Quay

  • Friday 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 14:30, 15:00 and 19:00
  • Saturday 11.00
  • Sunday 11.00

 

Depart Ballinlough Castle

  • Buses return on Sunday 25th June at 14:00, 23:00, 00:00 and on Monday 26th June at 01:00 AM, 02:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 and 14:00

Bus tickets can be purchased when arriving at the bus. 

Early Bird Special 2 – €5 Discount up to 09:00 on Wednesday 21st June 2017

Full Fare – €30 after 09:01 on Wednesday 21st June 2017 until 08:00 on Friday 23rd June 2017 for online bookings

ACCESS CAMPING (INCLUDING WHEELCHAIR USERS)

Specific instructions will be sent to all registered Access Campers by the Access Camping Officer. If you require assistance or have specific access needs (wheelchair access, for example)  at the festival please email Hollie on accesscamping@bodyandsoul.ie or you can register for Access Camping by clicking here.

PARENTS

  • Parents should write their mobile numbers on their children’s wristband.
  • Remember to check this each day to ensure it is still legible.
  • Educate your children on what to do if they get separated from you; advise them to stay where they are and not to move or go with anyone until a Garda or Steward approaches them. They should show the phone number on their wristband to the Garda or Steward. Always hold hands or carry your children through busy areas.
  • If you lose your child please find the nearest security guard who will alert the Gardaí.
  • Watch out for each other and if you think someone may need assistance please advise the nearest steward.

 

ALCOHOL POLICY

EACH INDIVIDUAL IS PERMITTED:

24 X 500 ml cans of beer, cider or ready mix drinks

Or

1 X 750ml bottle of spirits

Or

3 bottles of wine (decanted into a plastic bottle) / or 1 x 2 litre wine box

NOTE: No alcohol permitted on Sunday day passes.

  1. This applies to all ticket holders, performers and event staff.
  2. Your alcohol allowance will be checked at point of wrist-banding.
  3. Absolutely no re-entry with alcohol once wrist-banded.

Sunday ticket holders are not permitted to bring any alcohol – it will be confiscated at point of wrist-banding.

 

Our FREE FLOW policy

  • There will be no further searches once you have been admitted to the festival – search is at point of entry only.
  • Liquids of any sort, alcoholic or nonalcoholic, can be brought wherever you wish.
  • No glass containers are permitted on site whatsoever but decanting services are available at the main entrance where 1 litre plastic bottles are available for €1.
  • There are free water points throughout the site, we will be selling Body&Soul water bottles at a cost of €5.
  • Sunday ticket holders are not permitted to bring alcohol into the festival site.    

 


GENERAL INFO

INFORMATION, LOST PROPERTY & MEDICS AT THE FESTIVAL

  • The Information point / Lost & Found is marked on the festival map and situated in the Red Campsite.
  • Medics are located in the General Campsite, Midnight Circus Arena and the Woodlands. See map.

 

SAFETY

  • The festival takes place outdoors and you should dress appropriately for all weather conditions. Bring sunscreen, a hat, a rain jacket, suitable footwear… it’s Ireland guys, you know the drill.  
  • Smoking is not permitted within any structures at the festival
  • Note location of the Exits, Information Point, First Aid Areas and Water Point on the map
  • Drinking water is available for free on site from water points, listed on map
  • Drug taking will not be tolerated. Anyone seen using or selling drugs will be identified to the Gardaí.
  • There will be use of laser and strobe lighting at the event. People who have epilepsy or those affected by lighting effects should remain a safe distance away

 

RESPECT FOR OTHERS

  • Please co-operate at all times with festival stewards and Gardaí.
  • Please respect the local community by not littering, not engaging in anti-social behaviour and by not parking illegally. 
  • Please respect the privacy and property of the nearby homes and respect the grounds of Ballinlough Castle – we ask everyone to Leave No Trace

 

TICKETING / ACCESS

  • Wristbands are festival goers’ responsibility and cannot be replaced if lost.
  • Wristbands removed or tampered with will be deemed invalid and will not be replaced.
  • Do not remove your wristband at any time as you will need it to gain access around the site throughout the weekend.
  • There is no Re-Entry for Sunday ticket holders
  • There is a dedicated camping & parking area for people with specific access requirements; vehicles should display a blue HSE-issued disability badge for access to this area.

 

DRIVING / PARKING

  • Please take note of which car park you are parked in.
  • Do not park illegally. Free parking is provided. Please follow signage.
  • Camping/Sleeping is not permitted in the car parks or campervan site.
  • Playing music in the car parks is not permitted
  • Check Body&Soul and Marathon Travel websites for information on travelling to the festival by bus.

 

WHAT CAN/CAN’T I BRING?

  • Offensive weapons or anything considered offensive or potentially harmful – these will be removed from the person on arrival.
  • Drones and professional recording equipment are not permitted on the festival grounds or carparks.
  • Glass is not permitted anywhere on site.
  • No generators are permitted anywhere on the site or in the car parks.
  • Gas canisters and fires are not permitted on site.
  • Gazebos are not permitted in the campsites.
  • Not permitted: Petrol, Flares, Fireworks, Spray Cans, Megaphones, Air horns, Unofficial tabards/hi-viz or reflective jackets.
  • Campfires are not permitted on the festival grounds
  • No pets are permitted

 

WHAT CAN/CAN’T I DO?

  • Do not sleep in the carpark
  • Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated
  • BBQs are permitted in designated areas only.
  • Drug taking will not be tolerated. Anyone seen using or selling drugs will be identified to the Gardaí.

 

BARS

  • Bar and catering facilities are available at the event.

 

MONEY & VALUABLES

  • There are ATMs in the festival grounds.
  • Do not leave valuables in tents, locker facilities are provided.See here.
