Friendship, tragedy, love, emigration, drug use. Not just lyrical themes but all also catalysts on the path to Nealo becoming a Hip Hop artist. Having spent 10 years in the Dublin Hardcore Punk scene touring and singing with the band Frustration, and after their split in 2015, vocalist Neal Keating found himself at a creative loss. “As Dublin changed and bandmates emigrated, I found myself creatively stifled. I knew the words were constantly swirling around in there, I just needed a medium to get them out, and rap music has given me that”.

The next 10 months, Nealo spent writing over 50 songs. His debut release, ‘October Year’ is a sample of 4 of his favourite and most cohesive of the last few months work. ‘October Year’ is a short run, clocking in at 10 minutes, but it is both the beginning of an artists life, and the culmination of a years work with friend and producer Arbu.

Since releasing 'October Year' at a sold out record release show in Dublin city centre, Nealo played support to Californian rapper YG in the Olympia Theatre and has received praise from Nialler 9, District Magazine, and radio play from 2FM, Spin 103.8, FM104 &;98FM.

Just before Christmas, Nealo announced his second headline show on March 30th promoted by MCD in Whelans which is close to selling out already. This show, along with a new record due out in March, will propel Nealo into the summer season and make him an essential act for Irish festivals in 2020
