11:11 is a quick collective of 4 friends. Experienced and respected DJs first, they are broadcasters, producers, publishers, artists, filmmakers, photographers, promoters & curators second. Musically, they rest in the same circle, albeit pushing at different points of its round edge. Based hard and fast in soul, funk, hip-hop and disco, they stretch comfortably to house, techno, jazz, reggae, latin, electro & breaks. They move alongside each other in comfort, be it at the 1210’s, in the studio or round the dinner table. Wonderlust at Body&Soul 2018 welcomes three of the four (Arveene, Colm K and Jody) to close the stage late in to Saturday night.
Colm is simply one of Ireland’s best DJs & producers. The Cork native is signed to Brooklyn’s Bastard Jazz, is a prolific producer & remixer, and a graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy in 2004. A DJ since the age of 13, his first residency was in the renowned Sir Henry’s, Cork, Ireland’s truest club venue throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s. His just-released Heights EP has found love from Giant Step, Complex & Okayplayer and follows recent remix duties for Hypnotic Brass Ensemble alongside Mr. Scruff. His DJ style is buried deep in soul, funk & hip-hop, touching house, reggae, breaks, disco and jazz noise along the way. He hosts a monthly show with NTS, and has played with and/or supported Run DMC, De La Soul, Jazzy Jeff, Afrika Bambaataa, Kenny Dope, Mr. Scruff, Joy O and many more besides.
As a DJ, Arveene has played some of most respected clubs and festivals worldwide. Alongside his studio partner Misk, his remix credits are a who’s who in electronic dance music, including Mr. Oizo, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris, Felix the Housecat, Zombie Nation, Le Galaxie & Kelis on labels such as Kitsune, Ed Banger, Bang Gang, and Turbo. He’s toured with and supported Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye, Nightmares on Wax, The Prodigy, Daft Punk, Leftfield and Underworld. Most recently, Arveene has been working with the internationally renowned Bon Voyage, signed to Soulwax label Different Recordings, and clocking up radio play and gigs the world over.
Jody is first & foremost a promoter, with 1,500 shows & festivals behind him, and 500,000 people welcomed to the front of stages. He’s published a music magazine, ran numerous venues, and worked with all Irish bands and DJs of note, along with many international acts including Groove Armada, Nightmares on Wax, Kenny Dope, Jazzanova, Mark Rae, Kerri Chandler, Ian Pooley, Justin Robertson, Andrew Weatherall, Qool DJ Marv, The Nextmen, LTJ Bukem and Charles Webster. As a DJ, he’s played in venues of note all around Ireland, and supported many of the above acts. With his taste bedded in hip-hop & soul, he follows that bass, drum & vocal through funk, breaks and house.
