Hailed as ‘one of the most innovative minds in modern British music’, Scottish musician and composer Anna Meredith will be gracing us with her fantastic presence at Body&Soul 2017. Anna’s signature live show filled with diverse musicians, light installations and transcendental brass arrangements is a true mark of the modern composer.
Anna’s CV is just as compelling and fascinating as the music itself. She has been the Composer in Residence for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, soundtracked PRADA’s Spring/Summer 2015 show, composed pieces for MRI scanners, sleeping pods and nursery school symphonies amongst others. She has collaborated with Laura Marling, Shlomo and The Stranglers and her live show ‘Handsfree’ – which saw all 165 members of the National Youth Orchestra use their bodies as percussive forces – received rave reviews from its Barbican Centre, Southbank Centre and Royal Albert Hall performances.
What we can be sure of with her performance is a proper spine-tingling, body-rush experience that subverts your expectations.
