Bright Club: Headlined by Colm O’Regan
Bright Club is the alternative comedy event for lateral minds. Funded by Science Foundation Ireland, every event has brave academics taking to the stage to share their research through stand up comedy. Come hear scientists, engineers, designers, and performers talk about what they do, have a laugh and a think aswell. Headlined by Colm O’Regan a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, columnist, broadcaster and author of Bolloxology and the Irish Mammy books. With his combination of deadpan wit and critical views, he is the perfect Bright Club act and not to be missed. Joining Colm on the stage will be Jessamyn Fairfield, a physicist, improviser and comedian as well as the director of Bright Club Ireland. “Not only seriously smart but seriously funny” – Irish Examiner, Áine Gallagher, a researcher and comedian commonly known as the ‘Queen of offbeat’. Her awkward self-styling’s and deadpan humour, never fail to delight. Rounding off the line-up will be Úna McMahon, a designer, comedian and all-round hilarious person. She’ll delight you with stories about aeroplanes and pants,Rob O’Sullivan is our resident expert on invasive species and animal copulation. You’ll be amazed by the things you never knew and last but not least, Niamh Kavanagh a physicist, award-winning science communicator and all-round cool person. She is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion and making doors more user-friendly.
