Phare

Known formerly for being one half of atmospheric duo Lyttet, as Phare Peadar Kearney is taking off the softer focus and working towards the more club end of sonics. According to Nialler9, ‘his tracks show a penchant for euphoria-tinged electronica’, with twisted samples, hazy synths, and distorted percussion, while District noted ‘hats and kick that wouldn’t seem out of place in the grittiest of techno clubs, but keeping the hazy synth that is so prevalent with Lyttet, (…) seems like the best of both worlds for Kearney’. Equal emphasis is placed on thumping rhythms and textured melodies, and Phare simultaneously evokes a sense of elation and nostalgia, that accurately translates to how he describes his own music in layman’s terms; sad dance music.
