Ireland’s premier emcee RíRá is a wordsmith with a career spanning three decades. Former frontman of Scary Éire – trailblazers for the Irish hip hop scene – RíRá is the godfather of rap in Ireland. Uncompromising and fearless, rapping in his Tullamore accent, RíRá commands the attention of a crowd with an awe inspiring ease. His debut album Horses Work for Donkeys Wages was a solid collection of hard hitting tracks including the classic “25 O’Clock In The Mornin'”. Collaborations with Sinead O’Connor, Sly and Robbie, Tricky and Junior Delgado as well as praise from legendary artists such as Shane MacGowan, Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, and the late Joe Strummer of The Clash prove he’s still the Irish MC to be listened to. RíRá brings his energetic mix of music and rhyme to this year’s Body&Soul festival.
‘I wish, and I wish, I wish I was out there listening to this,’ – RíRá
