It’s fair to say that electronic trio RÜFÜS are something of a cultural sensation down under – their debut record having debuted at number one in the Australian charts and 2016’s sophomore outing Bloom following suit. The rest of world is only now catching up to the joys of this chart-topping, show-stopping, dancefloor dominating phenomenon.
Like so many of their countrymen, from Cut Copy to Jagwar Ma, RÜFÜS take the tones and energy associated with dance music of the last two decades, particularly that of the band’s beloved Trentemøller, Chemical Brothers, and Booka Shade, and through the use of live instrumentation elevate these familiar forms to a peerless brand of euphoric festival ambrosia. These boys are not to be missed.
