Moving towards circularity.

Since the beginning, 14 years ago, Body & Soul has embraced and recognised the key role that the cultural and creative industry plays in society’s transition towards real sustainability; environmental, social, and cultural.

Body & Soul is a participant of the Green Deal Circular Festivals (GDCF), a collaboration of knowledge and best practice sharing between 22 European festivals and the Dutch Government. This deal, signed in 2019 at ADE Green, sees participating festivals agree to reduce their environmental impact as much as possible by 2025. Body & Soul seeks to develop and implement a sustainable festival model and create a roadmap towards circularity by 2027. Circularity is based on three principles, driven by design: Eliminate waste and pollution; Circulate products and materials (at their highest value); and Regenerate nature. We hope to inspire other festivals in Ireland and further afield to do the same.
