Threshold II
Winter Solstice Retreat
December 20-22, 2024
Lough Corrib, Connemara, Ireland
Body & Soulers,
The Threshold retreat series continues with Winter Solstice.
Join us on the tranquil shores of Lough Corrib for an intimate weekend honouring the reflective energy of the Winter Solstice. This rare gathering offers a moment to pause, reconnect, and move in harmony with the season’s rhythms before the year’s end.
Led by founder of Body & Soul Avril Stanley with meditation teacher Susan Quirke, Winter Solstice centres around The Being Technique—a powerful meditation practice fostering inner peace. Complementing this, you’ll also experience grounding practices in Kum Nye, Yin Yoga, and Yoga Nidra, and relax with a lakeside sauna for deep renewal.
In the glow of the year’s final solstice, a lakeside fire ritual will mark our seasonal transition and close our weekend together. As a participant, you’ll also have access to free weekly online meditation sessions afterwards, offering continued support in connection and growth.
With only 8 spaces available, Threshold: Winter Solstice offers a unique opportunity to embrace reflection and is open to all.
Location
Threshold takes place near the village of Oughterard, at a charming home nestled along the shores of Lough Corrib. It’s the perfect setting to unwind and reconnect.
Meals
Over the course of the 3-day retreat, you’ll enjoy seasonal meals prepared by our on-premise chef from only the finest locally sourced ingredients.
Accommodation
You’ll rest and stay in shared twin en-suite rooms, where nature surrounds you and balance is found between moments of solitude and meaningful connection with others.

We’re excited to partner with INISH LIVING, an Irish wellbeing and lifestyle brand by Chartered Physiotherapist Christina Foley. Their eco-friendly yoga mats and cork blocks will elevate our retreat experience with sustainable luxury.
